May Day in Sao Paolo, Brazil.Autoworkers around the globe, who work for General Motors, Ford, Fiat/Chrysler and PSA Peugeot Citroën, coordinated efforts on May Day. Their demands listed in their leaflets were for “no plant closings or cutbacks in workers’ rights, reduction of working hours with no loss of pay and save our environment from the profit system.” (sindmetalsjc.org.br)Autoworkers in Latin America, Europe and the U.S. carried posters with those slogans in their cities’ May Day actions. Autoworkers in all these countries are fighting mass layoffs and/or demands for huge concessions. For instance, German workers at the GM Opel plant in Bochum, protesting GM’s plan to close their plant in 2014, rejected a concessionary contract that would only keep their plant open another two years. In Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazilian GM workers, fighting mass layoffs and a possible plant closing, are in negotiations to save their jobs. Minister for Education and Skills Joe McHugh has said a new building project at Niall Mór National School in Killybegs will make a big difference. He said this is great news in the run-in to Christmas for Niall Mór and everyone associated with the school. He said “I visited the school in May and talked to principal Eugene Mulligan about the facilities and as ever you couldn’t help but walk away impressed with the work of the teachers and staff. “I am delighted to be able to follow up that visit with some good news for the school with plans now approved for the school to get a new classroom and two special education rooms.“Special needs is an important focus for the school, with children coming from across south-west Donegal. And with more than 200 children in the school the extra space will be a huge plus.Minister McHugh said this work will give that bit more space in the school and it will also make it easier for the teachers to work with some of the kids who need more time, support and focus.“Congratulations to everyone involved and thanks to Manus Boyle in Killybegs for helping to arrange the visit and putting us in touch.” The additional accommodation project has been approved by the Building Unit in the Department of Education and Skills.(Left to Right) Principal Eugene Mulligan, former principal Michael McGuinness, Minister McHugh and Fr Colm Ó Gallchóir.Killybegs school to get new classrooms was last modified: December 3rd, 2019 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)
Alexis Sanchez atoned for a penalty miss by putting Arsenal ahead in a one-sided first half at the Emirates Stadium.QPR had an early let-off when Sanchez’s woeful spot-kick was easily kept out by keeper Rob Green after Armand Traore, playing against his former club, had brought down the Arsenal man.But Sanchez made no mistake eight minutes before half-time when he headed in after being found unmarked by Kieran Gibbs’ cross. That lapse came after Rangers, beaten in all nine of their away matches this season, had defended well. They reverted back to three central defenders, with Rio Ferdinand recalled to the starting line-up while Traore was given a chance to impress at left wing-back in the absence of the injured Yun Suk-Young. Arsenal: Szczesny, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Monreal, Gibbs, Flamini, Cazorla, Rosicky, Alexis, Giroud, Welbeck.Subs: Ospina, Chambers, Bellerin, Coquelin, Walcott, Podolski, Campbell. QPR: Green; Onuoha, Ferdinand, Caulker, Isla, Henry, Mutch, Kranjcar, Traore, Vargas, Austin.Subs: McCarthy, Hill, Phillips, Fer, Wright-Phillips, Hoilett, Zamora.Follow West London Sport on TwitterFind us on Facebook
9 Books That Make Perfect Gifts for Industry Ex… Related Posts 4 Keys to a Kid-Safe App Shazam, the magic mobile app that identifies music playing in the room you’re in, has added a new option for interacting with a song it’s identified: listen in Spotify. Spotify, a killer desktop and mobile music app that’s not yet available but to a few thousand testers in the United States, is widely loved in Europe. It’s a great way to discover new music, listen to an artist’s full or nearly full body of work and just generally get your groove on. I’m lucky to be listening to the band Bassnectar on Spotify as I write this post. I used Shazam earlier tonight to identify several songs, however, and did not have the option to fire those artists up in Spotify. I wish I could have. Along with creating a Pandora or Last.fm channel based on an identified artist, watching that artist’s YouTube videos, searching for their nearby tour dates and buying their music by MP3 – Spotify subscribers are now going to have a great new way to start listening to new music they discover on Shazam. The advantage of using Spotify, instead of Pandora or Last.fm, is that Spotify users can easily listen to entire albums and navigate among related artists much more freely than on most other services.According to the Spotify blog, this feature is only available to Spotify Premium subscribers at launch, but will be made available to free account holders soon. If you live in the United States and have not been fortunate enough to get one of relatively few Spotify preview accounts, prior to what everyone hopes are pending US licensing agreements with the major record labels here – well, don’t hold your breath. ReadWriteWeb cannot be held responsible if you burst while waiting. As a happy new subscriber to the similar service Rdio, I hope that Shazam will integrate listening in Rdio as well.A seamless ability to listen to entire albums of whatever musician or group is playing on the speakers in a room you’re in, with just a click or two and some awesome music identification technology, is truly incredible. Thank goodness for bandwidth, smartphones and streaming mobile music. Jay Morse & Heidi Radunovich, PhDUsing smartphones and other mobile communications devices have become a way of life for many of us. As of 2010, there were over 7.000 health applications for mobile devices – and the list keeps growing. Dr. Shore and colleagues have cataloged and prioritized applications for mental health for the military and summarized three leading military mental health projects using mobile technologies .[Flickr, Operation Lone Star by Texas Military Forces, CC BY-ND 2.0] Retrieved on September 17, 2015Mobile Health, or mHealth (using mobile communication devices for health care services), can improve traditional mental health practices by enhancing communication, enriching health information, encouraging engagement, and improving compliance. Mobile technology can be used easily on-base or in the civilian community, is easily accessible (can be carried in a pocket, purse, or backpack), and can provide patient physiological data as well as voice and text communications. A wide range of mHealth applications for the military have been developed or are in development. Some of the projects being developed include:Remote Exercises for Learning Anger and Excitation Management (RELAX): This application collects self-reported information about the emotions of the user and physiological information that is reported to a therapist to assist in therapist-directed feedback to address anger and stress.Remote PTSD monitoring and diagnosis using an automated system: The application uses voice analysis software to screen and identify individuals at risk for PTSD.A Conversational Independent Living Assistant for Cognitive Impairments: This project extends the current Planning and Execution Assistant Trainer (PEAT) to help users in the VA system to plan, execute, and monitor daily activities. The application is planned to have a virtual caregiver who interacts with the user.Naturalistic Neurocognitive Assessment: A video game for smartphones, the application assesses increasingly complex neurocognitive metrics. While there are many opportunities to develop innovative mobile technology solutions, there is a limited base of mental health literature evaluating outcomes when using these devices. Still in its infancy, the field of mobile technology and of mHealth is fast moving and provides many possibilities for uses in mental health for care providers in the future.References Shore, J. Man Utd defender Maguire deletes social media postby Paul Vegas21 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveManchester United defender Harry Maguire had a message for fans after the goalless draw at AZ Alkmaar on Thursday – but he soon deleted it.Maguire failed to get off the bench in the Netherlands as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer went with a central defensive partnership of Victor Lindelof and Marcos Rojo. That pair, as well as first-choice goalkeeper David De Gea, all did their jobs as the Eredivisie outfit were snuffed out despite having 12 shots on goal and four on target. The England defender tweeted: “A point away from home. Thanks for the support. See you Sunday.”However, following a backlash from supporters at what they saw as an overly positive reaction to a disappointing result, Maguire ultimately deleted the post, which isn’t visible on his Twitter account on Friday morning. Jose Mourinho’s warning before the new season appears to have been justified with two losses in their first three games.Jose Mourinho was the voice of pessimism coming into the season, complaining his team had not reinforced enough to mount a title challenge. No help came at the transfer deadline, but the Red Devils opened their season with three points against Leicester City in a scrappy 2-1 victory.Whatever optimism that may have emerged from that victory has quickly been replaced by concern as United have now been defeated in their next two games.A surprise 3-2 defeat to Brighton, who are expected to be in the mix for relegation, put United into a precarious position. And Tottenham has now pushed them further toward the brink, hammering the Red Devils 3-0, at Old Trafford no less.Vidic: “Ronaldo is the most professional footballer I’ve seen” Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Nemanja Vidic opened up on how a 21-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo’s professionalism left him stunned at Manchester United.A second-half opener from Harry Kane and a brace from Lucas Moura put United to the sword and sent them tumbling down into the bottom half of the table after three games. The start is the worst Manchester United had suffered since the 1992-93 season, 26 years ago, when the club also lost two of their first three contests but went on to win the League.
Manchester City star Bernardo Silva believes the Citizens have two players who can rival Kylian Mbappe for the Ballon d’Or awardThe Paris Saint-Germain prodigy has been one of the best players so far this year and is one of the likely candidates to claim the flattering award. However, Mbappe’s former AS Monaco teammate Bernardo Silva thinks City’s Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling have the necessary quality to challenge the Frenchman in the future. The 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder told Sport360: “Kylian was a fantastic player for us at Monaco and now he’s doing very well for PSG, obviously for France as well and he won the World Cup with them.Premier League Betting: Match-day 5 Stuart Heath – September 14, 2019 Going into the Premier League’s match-day five with a gap already beginning to form at the top of the league. It’s amazing for us to have them with us.“They score, they always work a lot for the team to create something. Since I’ve arrived, they have been key players for the team, and I just hope they can keep going this way.“I think they have the talent to win the big prizes, too. The three of them are young, Raheem, 23, Leroy is 22, and Kylian is 19, so yes, very young players and they can still improve a lot.”Sane and Sterling have been outstanding under Guardiola this season, as the duo already registered nine goals and eight assists in the Premier League so far.
