However, the pensioner was able to hold onto one of the bandits and tie him up before the Police arrived.Reports are that three men entered the Lot 3 Ovolton Dam, Mount Sinai premises at around 02:00h. The men broke open a window next to the stairway to gain entry. Two remained outside while one entered the building.First, he went to an unoccupied room and ransacked it. After finding nothing ofBusinessman: Kamalodeen Mohabir, also called “Tarzan”value, the man – who disguised himself with dark shades and a hooded jacket – then picked the lock on the door leading to the bedroom which 63-year-old Rukomine Hannamon was in. He subsequently removed $350,000 in cash and a quantity of jewellery from her room.The woman put up a fight after he went back into the bedroom and in the process, she pulled off his hoodie and dark glasses.Meanwhile, 77-year-old Kamalodeen Mohabir, also called “Tarzan”, who operates a grocery shop, heard the loud sound on the upper flat and ran to his wife’s rescue. He told this publication that he noticed that his son and the bandit were in a scuffle and his son was injured. At the time, the bandit was carrying a knife.During the scuffle, the man’s son, Jimmie Mohabir, 43, sustained wounds to his head and feet and had to receive medical attention at the New Amsterdam Hospital.Meanwhile, Hannamon received bites to both of her legs after removing theThe window the bandit brok to gain entrybandit’s disguise. She was also treated at the New Amsterdam Hospital and sent away.The businessman told this publication that he put up a scuffle with the bandit and was injured in the process. He showed wounds to his chest, face, finger, forearm, both feet and one leg.Meanwhile, neighbours also responded, causing the two other bandits who remained on the step to flee.Inside the woman’s bedroom, the bandit broke a window and attempted to flee but Kamalodeen Mohabir held onto him and pulled him back into the room.Two children, ages 14 and six, who were in the house, were told by the intruder to go under the bed. While under their grandmother’s bed, the six-year-old who took out her cellphone and recorded all that was being said.In a part of the conversation, she recorded the captured man calling the names of two persons he alleged to be his accomplice and also claimed that he had handed the valuables which he removed from the bedroom.“Yea buddy is Allan and Ryan carry away all the gold and the money…”Neighbours say the man who has been arrested and the suspects all live in the community. This is the fifth time bandits attacked the businessman. On the initial three occasions, the matter was reported to the Police.“On the fourth time that they come in, I aint report it to the Police because the Police aint doing anything every time you report,” he said.The Police are continuing their investigations.
