first_imgWest Brom assistant manager Dave Kemp says Carlton Cole’s failed move to the club means Brown Ideye will stay at the Hawthorns. The Baggies came close to landing the West Ham striker on transfer deadline day, meaning the Nigeria forward was surplus to requirements.Tony Pulis’ side were due to offload the £9m record signing for a massive loss to Qatari side Al Gharafa. But, speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show, Kemp insists the former Dynamo Kiev hitman will be given another chance at the club.“We couldn’t get the Carlton Cole deal done so Brown Ideye will stay with West Brom,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show.“We’re very disappointed to not sign Carlton. We got very close. The agreement was he would move to us if they could find a replacement.“They thought they had one but, as it turned out, they didn’t, so it all fell through.”last_img
