SACRAMENTO – Governor Schwarzenegger has signed four bills aimed at increasing protections for victims of sexual abuse, incest and child abuse. One bill prohibits convicted child abusers from going within 35 miles of the child’s residence. Another increases from 45 days to 60 days the notice a sexual abuse victim must be given before the abuser is released from prison. The other bills tighten loopholes and expand the list of sex offenses for which victims can request their names to be withheld.
