OUR HEART GOES OUT TO ALI AFTER SHE MISSES ALL-IRELAND FINAL

first_imgDonegal GAA fan Ali McGee certainly has a big heart! The Ballyshannon woman was admitted to Dublin’s Mater Hospital to have a serious coronary operation just an hour before last Sunday’s big game. But instead of being surrounded by her family, she insisted that they all go to Croke Park to watch the All-Ireland final. The mum of four was checked into the hospital at 2pm on Sunday afternoon – just an hour and a half before the throw-in to the big game. Her family searched the floor of the hospital but couldn’t find another Donegal person so Ali could watch the game with some company.Instead Ali hung up her colours while husband Denis, who is originally from Falcarragh, three sons Martin, Denis, Shane and daughter Maria nipped around to Croke Park. The family returned to join mum Ali for a well-deserved hug and celebration. Son Shane said last night that Ali is back home in Ballyshannon and recovering well after her operation. He told us: “She was waiting for a heart procedure for some time and eventually was given an appointment to check in at 2 pm on Sunday!“All the family checked her in and left to attend the game returning afterwards. She is at home now recovering and is a very happy Donegal women.” OUR HEART GOES OUT TO ALI AFTER SHE MISSES ALL-IRELAND FINAL was last modified: September 27th, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Ali McGeeALL-IRELAND FINALBallyshannonheart surgerylast_img
