PHILIP (AND HIS SHOVEL!) COME TO AID OF STRANDED BEACH-LOVERS

first_imgLife doesn’t have to be a beach – just ask Philip McFadden.Philip’s hours of work has paid off with a new entrance onto Trawbreaga Bay on Five Finger Beach.Like many others, the Inishowen artist missed his walks on stunning Lagg beach on the shores of Trawbreaga Bay.The recent storms washed away the entrance and left a six foot drop to the beach which many could not access. Even an online petition to Donegal County Council and 6,000 signatures didn’t get the necessary repair work done.So Carndonagh man Philip decided he would get a shovel and give it a go himself. And many hours later he can be vastly proudly of himself after single-handidly opening up the beach for many to use again. Many people including local Sinn Fein candidate Albert Doherty, who has been campaigning on the issue, have heaped praise on Philip’s work. One man and a shovel. Just imagine what a county council team could do?The entrance to Lagg Beach before Philip’s repairs. PHILIP (AND HIS SHOVEL!)
