Suresh Kalmadi seeks CBI court’s permission to attend London Olympics

first_imgTainted Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi, who is the main accused in the Commonwealth Games (CWG) scam, on Thursday sought a Delhi court’s permission to attend the London Olympics, starting later this month.The suspended organising committee (OC) chairman of 2010 CWG, which was held in the national capital in October 2010, approached a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court saying he is a member of International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) and sought permission to visit the United Kingdom for the Olympics, being held from July 26 to August 13.The court was likely to take up Kalmadi’s plea on Friday.Kalmadi might be out of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) after spending a few months in Tihar Central Jail for his alleged role in the CWG scam, but he still continues to be the president of the Asian Athletics Association (AAA).last_img
