Rick Snyder includes a $120 increase in per-pupil funding for local school districts. The Fiscal Year 2017 school aid budget provides schools across the state with $60 to $120 more per student in foundation allowance funding, with the largest increases going to districts currently funded at the lowest level.“Traditionally, classrooms in our community have received the least amount from the state in per-pupil funding,” said Rep. Maturen, R-Vicksburg. “I’m pleased to say this budget helps close the funding gap and ensures that all schools are adequately funded.”In addition, Rep. Maturen noted the significance of completing the budget process months ahead of the Oct. 1 deadline.“I served in township and county government for years, and I remember what it was like to try to come up with a budget when we were left guessing how much state funding we were going to receive,” Rep. Maturen said. “Finalizing the state budget early gives local school and government leaders a better idea how much state funding they can count on.”Foundation allowance funding for school districts in the 63rd House District: DistrictFY 16 FoundationFY 17 FoundationIncrease Harper Creek Community Schools$7,391$7,511$120 27Jun State budget includes $120 increase in per-pupil funding for local schools Marshall Public Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Gull Lake Community Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Vicksburg Community Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Climax Scotts Community Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Athens Area Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Comstock Public Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Tekonsha Community Schools$7,391$7,511$120 Homer Community Schools$7,391$7,511$120last_img
